Juan Federico Barbero
Fred, who lives in Grand Junction, Colorado has been in the valley since 1978. He has worked as an ER doctor for over 30 years and is now retired. Throughout Fred’s career he did many community outreach programs related to healthcare. Fred’s undergraduate degree is a BS in biology. He is familiar with flora and fauna and the concepts associated with them.
He is passionate about outdoor recreational activities especially those associated with the Colorado Riverfront. He was a member of One Riverfront for 6 years and served as its co-chairman during that time. During his tenure the goal to extend the trail to Loma was attained. He has walked, run, and bicycled the trail from near Palisade on one end to Loma on the other. He has floated that entire distance and beyond all the way to Lake Powell, Utah. He also enjoys camping along the river as well and educating other people as to its characteristics. He has noted the positive impacts of the efforts RiversEdge West has made along the river over many years. He is hoping to continue his community service as a member of RiversEdge West.
