An Overview of Utah’s State Sovereign Lands Restoration Program

The Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands is responsible for managing Utah's Sovereign Lands. These State of Utah public lands include the beds of Bear Lake, Bear River, Great Salt Lake, Jordan River, Utah Lake, and portions of the Green and Colorado Rivers. The Division has been developing a Restoration Program to improve the health, function, and value of these critically important public lands. This program focuses on vegetation management and restoration to enhance the Public Trust values of navigation, fish and wildlife habitat, aquatic beauty, public recreation, and water quality.
