Volunteer Event at Big Salt Wash with City of Fruita

At this event we will assist the City with the maintenance and restoration of public riverside lands. We will transplant willow and cottonwood poles to support the reestablishment of native species. Other potential tasks are outlined below. Light snacks and coffee will be provided.

Volunteer Event with City of Grand Junction

At this event we will assist the City with the maintenance and restoration of public riverside lands. Light snacks and coffee will be provided. Work will all be outside, so please bring water, proper work attire (we recommend pants, close-toed shoes, and long sleeves), and sun protection. Specialized tools will be provided, but you may also bring your own. 

Volunteer Planting Event with City of Grand Junction

Join RiversEdge West for a volunteer planting event with the City of Grand Junction on April 17, 2025 from 9 am - 11 am.

At this event we will assist the City with the maintenance and restoration of public riverside lands. We will be planting native perrenials and wildflowers to support bees, hummingbirds, butterflies and more in the pollinator garden along the riverfront trail. Light snacks and coffee will be provided.

Volunteer Event at Wildlife Area with Bureau of Reclamation

At this event we assist the Bureau of Reclamation with restoration tasks that may include pulling weeds, cutting back invasive plants, planting native species, caging native species. Exact tasks to be determined.

Volunteer Event at Wildlife Area with Bureau of Reclamation

At this event we assist the Bureau of Reclamation with restoration tasks that may include pulling weeds, cutting back invasive plants, planting native species, caging native species. Exact tasks to be determined.

Volunteer Event at Wildlife Area with Bureau of Reclamation

Join RiversEdge West for a volunteer event with the Bureau of Reclamation on May 22, 2025 from 8 am - 10 am.

At this event we will plant native plants. We will also install protective caging around cottonwood trees and other native plants to protect them from beavers, deer, and other critters. Light snacks and coffee will be provided. Work will all be outside, so please bring water, proper work attire (we recommend pants, close-toed shoes, and long sleeves), and sun protection. Specialized tools will be provided, but you may also bring your own.

RiversEdge West has been working with CPW since 2013 to restore wetland, riparian, and upland habitat. We will be working with CPW to improve habitat that is in need of ongoing maintenance.

RiversEdge West has been working with CPW since 2013 to restore wetland, riparian, and upland habitat. We will be working with CPW to improve habitat that is in need of ongoing maintenance at James M. Robb Colorado River State Park - Connected Lakes section in Grand Junction, CO. We will cage cottonwoods and pull invasive weed species.
